GENERAL INFORMATION:
Ro-ro/pax “ANDREAS KALVOS” owned by ANMEZ S.A. is a closed type car passenger ferry of Category B, according the European Directive 2009/45/EC. During 2015 the above shipowner was placed to our office the order to comply the vessel with the requirements of European Directive 2003/25/EC (Stockholm Agreement) for s.w.h. 2,50 m. The conversion of the ship was consisted of four parts: a) the increase of the ship’s breadth of the aft part till the maximum breadth above the main deck. b) the addition of side sponsons from the after end till one third of its length, c) the increase of the under deck volume through major intervention on under deck hull scheme, without affecting the speed and d) increase of passengers’ number.

SCOPE OF WORK:
- Damage stability calculations according the requirements of European Directive 2003/25/EC (Stockholm Agreement) for s.w.h. 2,50 m.
- Short-range constructional interventions under main deck, in order the under deck vessel’s subdivision to be upgraded to the requirements of our damage stability calculations
- Increase of the ship’s breadth of the aft part till the maximum breadth above the main deck
- Increase of the under deck volume through major intervention on under deck hull scheme
- Addition of side sponsons from the after end till one third of its length
- Construction of new cabins space for the crew.
- Supervision during upgrading works and vessel’s acceptance on behalf of the owners
